What doubles would you be diving in?

I dive AL80 doubles and the shorter tank neck (compared to that of steel tanks). This makes the hose routing that not optimal for DS4 first stages. When I started diving doubles, I was using DS4s. The first stages will need to be slightly tilted in order for all the hoses to be pointing downward. Thus this would require bends on the hoses when routing. With the tight hose routing, it LP inflator hose actually pressed against the upper channel of my double wing which makes venting air underwater a bit more complicated.

I now dive SP MK25s for my backgas and use the DS4s for my stages and deco bottle.

But you are going to be diving in steel doubles, it shouldn't be a problem. Hose routing is actually very nice.

Thanks for the advice,

I am now thinking about the DS4's for the price, I can get them very cheap brandnew online for $146 dollars for one or with the XTX50 for $289...

I will be diving either steel 100HP or 80HP... I currently own three tanks, the 100 HP, I have two and the 80 HP I have one, it was inherited for free and I'm thinking of trying to trim it out.

I'm not tall only 5'4 and have seen some ladies my height diving the HP 80's and a friend told me I could try his wife's when ever I'm ready.

So do you think the DS4's would be okay with no crimping on the lines with steel tanks?

Thanks,

MG

I would go with the XTX50, not the 40.

If you are concerned, just get Miflex hoses. I use DS4's and XTX50's with miflex on steel tanks and don't have any issues with hose routing.

Few weeks ago during Cave-1 I dived DS4s (which I usualy dive on different steel doubles) on double AL80 without any problems.

It's no big deal to upgrade the XTX40 to XTX50. Any (authorized) reg technician should be able to change the parts.

I misspelled XTX50 and placed 40, but I was referring to the XTX50...

Hi,
Another pro for the DS4: My Apeks rep told me that it will be available in black chrome:D

Any pics of that black chrome? ...

Sorry, just on the order form. I'll post pics as soon as the DS4 has arrived

That's nice, I didn't know you ordered a pair. Would be nice to see the difference in the original and today's new look...
