I have done some searching (I swear!) and what I wanted to know I seem to be having some trouble locating. I have been to the manufacturer site but wanted someone to chime in on the old and the new...
Basically this is what I am looking at... I am about to pick up my first regs. I have looked all over and narrowed down the field a bit. The info I would like now is on the Apeks line.
I am guessing that the TX was an earlier model then replaced by the ATX and now the XTX. I have seen the TX50 mentioned several times as a good technical regulator, I would like something that fits this bill as its something I could see myself doing in the future. Is the XTX50 its equivalent/upgrade? I know sometimes when new "features" are added they can actually hurt some of the qualities liked in the orginal. (see old and new mustangs)
On the chart I notice that the XTX200 100 and 50 are all identicle as far as features... so why the 200 over the 50? I am kind of leaning toward the Apeks line but the information out there has me undecided over which I want and why. Saying the 200 is awesome is great, but if the 50 is too why should a buyer choose one over the other?
What are the differences between these models in an XT, ATX, XTX.
Possible diving scenarios for me would be cold water, technical diving, deep diving, salt and fresh water/contaminated water, strong current, and of course Nitrox mixes.
I would also look at getting the equivalent Octo unless there is some reason I should go with a different one?
Your feedback on this is very appreciated.
