aow class / monterey dive

hi!
i'm going to be in sunnyvale, ca July 12-20th for a business trip. I've been diving for 2 years in mexico and belice, and somehow i got the idea that it would be fun to get my aow certification in cold water

do you have any tips about:
a. who to contact for classes
b. exposure suits (3mm farmer is all i've used, but i have a 7mm full)
c. weights (do you need more in cold water???)

My favorite LDS is Diver Dans

Although they are in Santa Clara, their location on El Camino, near San Tomas Expwy is pretty easy to get to from Sunnyvale.

If the sked doesn't work out with them, then AnyWater, in Saratoga should be able to set you up. Anywater also runs the Cypress Sea, a popular Monterey boat.

...if you want to use some independant instructors, give Trevor and Andrea a call at www.andreasaquatics.com - they're not affiliated with any particular store. I know they have an upcoming AOW class in the next few weeks, so it might click with your dates.

I agree with Charlie, Dan's is the place to go, but it doesn't look like the schedule fits when you're going to be there.

a. sent ya info
b. 7mm in Monterey, with hood, gloves and booties...
c. Add a few pounds for cold...Ask the instructor and they will set you up.

If you get down here on a nice day, try to get them to take you to Monestary for the deep dive...Its nice there.
