I've got a Vyper in a console with SPG and compass. CONSOLE is VERY BIG. considering putting my vyper on wrist via bungee (I LOVE BUNGEE)

I have taken the console apart and the vyper seems intact/not needing any special adapter for going to a bungee for the wrist.

What I'd like to see is some pictures. Anyone got any pictures?

Moochas GraciesAss in advance.

I have my Vyper on a wrist mount anyway. But I also have it attached with an extra wrist cord (pressure sensitive).... don't want to loose it you know

it is not a bad idea to add a safety cord anyway. Vypers have been known to disappear UW.

A bungee doesn't sound like a bad Idea.

Ari :)

Here's a couple of pictures of what I ended up doing. Thanks to Bob3 for the idea......

I simply knotted the ends of 1/8" bungee, crossed them from corner to corner then tied them down with 10-12 loops of high tensile (Firewire type) fishing line.

Word of warning...expect some sore fingers after tying that much line that tight...

I've dove this setup at least 12 times without problems....If anyone can offer suggestions as how to improve this design please step forward....my total cost into this rig is about $1.50, so I'm not mated to it for life......

It's like a relationship....it may be cheap, and easy, but as long as it works for me I'll stick with it....Until something better comes along........

DID I JUST SAY THAT?????? Just kidding.

Sure... you post that AFTER I spend $30 on custom straps from Suunto! I got a new wrist strap and a neck lanyard. Thought it might be easier wearing it clipped to my BCD that way I don't have to take it on/off my wrist with my wetsuit. I'll let you know how it works out. I like you're idea though, much better than Suunto's answer to extending the band of the Mosquito!

Hey, that's a real cool idea. I was planning on using bungee underneath the pins as shown in a different thread but your idea eliminates the need for the pins all together. That's great because the pins could potentially be a failure point even though they are tougher to pull out than your average watch pins. I may have to give this a try when my 1/8" bungee cord comes in that I ordered. :)

I tried them front to back first, then stuck a knife under one side and cut it to simluate a break or a fray.

When wearing my drysuit and full underwear, there is a little room for the computer to move and it essentially flipped up on it's side.

By crossing the bungees, this eliminated the computer's tendency to flip over.

At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

:D

I figured there was a reason. I just didn't know what it was.:)

I was going to route mine under the boot and then remount the computer like I have seen in another thread (and like I emailed you, Sean)...but...

How the heck do you get the vyper out of the wrist boot? Every time it feels close, I think I am breaking something...is it just that hard to get out?
