Anyone used a Scubapro MK5?

The Scubapro MK5 is a decent regulator, but parts are no longer available. You may be able to find some shops that will still have a few kits, but it will become more difficult. Some parts are pretty standard, but not all. It also depends on how old it is,
as the earliest models were not rated for 3000 psi. If it is, it will be displayed or stamped on the yoke. If you are looking to buy one of these used, keep in mind that
it will be at least 20+ years old and the hoses will probably be just as old. Hope this helps.

I dive a couple of them as well as its 2 pound cousin the Mk7. I retired my Mk20s to use them and a Mk10. Less parts, easier to service, and same excellent performance as its modern counterparts.
Some parts may be hard or impossible to get but annual service parts (HP seats, filter, and o-rings) are no problem. Mk 5 kits may still be available or you can use the seat from the Mk10 kit, filter is std for all Scubapro 1sts and all o-ring are std. I understand it is difficult to impossible to find parts to upgrade the yoke (many are not recommended for use with 3000psi) or the turret. So just make sure it has a modern yoke and the 4 or 5 LP port turret before you buy it. I would expect to be able to buy a perfectly useable Mk5 with an adjustable metal (R109) 2nd for well under $50. However, the same reg in excellent condition with almost new appearance may run up to $100. Beats the hell out of about $600 for its modern counterpart NIB w/ warrenty.

I bought mine in 1978 and still use it today. I take it to a Scubapro dealer for service and they have never had any trouble getting parts. Several people on the board here still use the Mk5. I have never had any reason to upgrade to a newer reg.

What do you mean, parts are no longer available? I just had mine serviced 2 weeks ago, service parts are readily available.
So i wonder is this set shown on the photo, a set with modern yoke-adapter (300 Bar) and the 4 or 5 LP port turret?
Is it easy to get it serviced?
And how about the 2nd stage, is there any difficulties to get serviced too?

Terrific regulator, rugged and easy to service. Overhauling the first stage requires just a bunch of )-rings and an HP seat. Second stage uses mostly the same parts as much more recent SP 2nds. So no probem with parts.
Re parts: every so often you hear of someone taking one of these in to be service and being told it can't be serviced because of no more parts. This usually means one of two things: the shop isn't an authorized SP dealer and just can't get them, or the shop is an SP dealer but has just gotten so sick of rebuilding indestructable 25 year old regs
that they are willing to lie a bit to sell a new one.
Plus it's got the nice late turret with a lot of LP ports and the late heavy yoke though SP rates all their yokes at 3000 psi so you are not going to find a 300bar one. And if you pull the console apart you likely will find that the pressure gauge is a heavy chromed brass one.

Yes, this is the more modern 1st stage. I misinformed you when I said that parts kits
were no longer available. The annual service kits are available, it's the metal parts
that you can no longer get. These parts would include any of the 1st and 2nd stage
parts that are metal, (parts of the body) and most important - the pistons are no longer available. Not saying you can't find them now, but they will become less available.

That's a newer looking yoke. Mine is from 1978, ir does not have a knob, those came later. It clearly has at least 4 LP ports. It should have a 2nd HP port on the far side of the body.
The 2nd does not appear to be an adjustable, which mine is. The service parts are likely the same, and getting R109 adjustable 2nd stages serviced is not a problem. You can no longer get new exhaust T's for them though, so you want to be careful with that part.
And SP tech should be able to service that set.
