I have been using the Alpha 8 Sport with the balanced piston first stage. The reg is quite sinple to use and its quite easy to draw air regardless of depth. But I notice that it gets "wet" when I hover upside down. Does anyone who is also using this reg have this problem? Is this a problem with the diaphragm? I have had it for less than a year and have not sent it for the annual servicing.

I am getting ready to buy the Alpha 8 Sport, and have done as much research as I can on it.

The Scubalab reviews rated it highest in its class for breathing "dry", and I think that was at all depths and positions.

The Alpha 8 Sport, unless you asked for a different setup, comes with the SP-5 first stage regulator. This first stage is an unbalanced piston, NOT a diaphragm.

It shouldn't be wet. Have the LDS do a vacuum test on it. Let us know.

Best,

Chris

I upgraded the first stage to a balanced one.... will try it again this weekend.... will be sending my reg for servicing soon anyway.... will let u know....
