Rented "Phone Booth," which has been out long enough to be abused and scratched, to be sure, and it started hanging up. After 2 brief stalls, I knew what was next, and tried the water spritz & wipe. No more problems.

Love it. Now I can watch a movie without too much aggrivation, and I know something noone else around seems to know. Maybe I can impress a cute young thing!!

Thanks, Guys!!

Good to hear you got past this one, but...

Don't expect the spritzing to always work. I've got a couple of DVD players... some discs will just not play in one, and some will not play in the other. This happens not just with scratched up rentals, but some of the discs that I've purchased and right out of the box.

Just like everything else electronic and especially digital.... expect it to fail for no apparent reason. There's a good chance you won't be disappointed.

DVDs suck. Oh sure, they are infinitely better than tape... but they still suck.

ymmv (but I doubt it)
