I'm a Fish!
I am constanly searching for the coolest toys in diving. I ran across this thing called a Seabob. The demo video totally got me psyched to try/buy one...til I saw the price tag of about 12,000 USD!!! Ugh!

Who can afford this stuff?!

Better have a good drawstring on your bathing suit:redface:

My observations...in no particular order
1) That's probably a WHOLE LOT of fun!
2) When those folks were doing those deep plunges, I don't know how they equalized.
3) Divers might have a real tough time avoiding expansion injuries with those things.
4) Better be on your toes to avoid DCS too.
5) Just what we need...another device that will make it easy to injure reefs and silt up dive areas
6) That's a WHOLE LOT of money (to me, anyway)
7) I bet it won't be too long before we see one of those in a James Bond movie.

8) You could get seriously bent with these having to strain holding on like that. People do get bent straining arms when scootering
9) Your regs would free flow/purge with the speed that is going.

But is does look like a lot of fun.... would love to take one out for a spin.

10) Where I dive (Texas) vis isn't great at most sites. Could make for a WHOLE LOTTA COLLISIONS (the bottom, submerged trees, each other, etc...)

Can't wait to start seeing underwater collisions with those like we already see with jetskis/waverunners. Now besides the crash, you have to worry about being knocked out at 40 fsw. :rofl3:

Small point here, but I didn't see anyone in that video on SCUBA. They were all doing breathhold. Kind of hard to get bent or an overexpansion injury on a breathhold dive. That said, equalizing would probably be tough, given the speed and the fact that you have to hold on with both hands.

As for my personal take....as if anyone needed to make any "improvements" on the Waverunner.... :shakehead:

I see lots of potential lawsuits with this thing. It does look like fun. I would hate to scrape my feet against the coral in the video (ouch). I saw some close calls.
