wow it was bad. Beautifull locations but I couldnt believe the footage of the divers. It reminded me of the examples of what not to do! Bicycle kick, paddeling with your hands, spg bouncing along the corals, octo floating behind the diver, touching corals to demonstrate how they close up and change color...

Yeah, I saw it last night. I agree with you whole-heartedly. Beautiful scenery, but all of the how-not-to you could ask for. Even after they stated that you should not touch the wildlife, they go ahead and touch the coral, the fish, etc.

Besides all of the gaffs, I was left wanting for longer segments on each dive spot. My wife and I are still pretty new at this, and have very limited international diving experience. I would have liked to see more, and gotten more useful information out of the show. But, all-in-all, I did enjoy having our newest, favoritest sport on the tube. Keeps the dream alive during these cold winter months.

Dive shows are notorious for bad footage...often a crew will show up with a director, sound guy, face and a cameraperson. It is assumed that the camera person can simply get in the water and shoot. He/she may or may not be a diver...but as a pro camera person will be "OK" to get the shots needed. If a diver, often no experience with filming underwater - it isn't as easy as the good people make it look!

And they often have no idea of what good divers look like so just leave in any old thing.

Diving Passport on ESPN is a perfect example of ruining a great location with mediocre footage and terrible commentary.

Be interesting to hear what the top spots were for those of us who don't get the show ;)

I saw it and I still don't get it. :shakehead
It always amazes me that travel show producers can't fathom the thought of cold water and good diving in the same sentence.

That's because these shows are for tourists, not divers ...
