Had one...It held air when you wanted it to. Released it when you wanted it to....I liked it. Gave it to my brother after I got a Halcyon Pioneer 36. My brother likes it.

The Flex is a good basic weight-integrated BCD, but beware of the weight pockets. I've used the BCD with some open water students and have had packets slide out of their sleeves, dangling by the mechanical side locks. It seems that if the "stiffener" (for lack of a better term) that maintains the pocket's angle is worn out or broken, then the pocket can easily slide out of the sleeve if there is more than 2-3 lbs. of weight in it. I've seen this happen twice in a pool setting and once in an open water setting. The pockets sliding out caused no harm because they remained attached by the mechanical lock, but was quite disconcerting to the students. In all three instances it was the pocket stiffener that had gone bad. Now, if I have a student using the Flex I check the integrity of the weight pockets before I let them in the water.

did the weight pockets slide out on an older model or a newer model. because i am not sure if the older models came with the QLR system.
