Hey Gypsyjim, on page 5 towards the bottom, #49 I think, you attributed a quote to JG109 (me) ref Baja, federales, guns etc, It wasn't me, maybe crowny?, he was talking about Baja.

Wow, I'm glad I missed the volley as most of us have strong opinions. We can add that to politics and religion.
I'm feeling in the holiday cliche spirit so:
1) 10% (at least) of all people in all fields are probably in the wrong line of work.
2) Your perception is your reality

Peace out, family Christmas in a few hours.

Wow, you are correct. Must be a glitch, because I hit "Reply With Quote" on his post, and made my comment. I did not notice that somehow your username was attached to his quote, and not his (hers?)!

Weird. sorry.

Interesting story about that, Don. The table truly is accurate and if you stick to it, it works. (Bartended during college.)

The agencies don't teach it anymore. It seems that people would challenge DUIs because they claim they followed the table exactly, and still got drunk. Of course, you know they miscounted, but it caused such a mess in the courts, the chart isn't pushed anymore.

It looks like an old table -- One ounce of alcohol over 1 hour's time will still put a 100lb person into the .08 danger zone.
That was why I wrote down the times with indelible on my palm, to keep myself honest. The chart was updated when the limits were reduced from 0.10 to 0.08. The hard part was multiplying by 0.015 and subtracting in my head, before they put calculators in cell phones so yeah it's been a while for me. Honestly, I've done a couple of citizen arrests on drunk drivers (well on a pickup driver before he could get to town at school zone time; the semi truck running people off the road I tailed and called in), and I've been on the wrong side. Nowadays, I keep out of it.

Funny how we never see any cops around Lubbock's Grape Days wine tasting festival? It is in daylight at least, but the city must really politic to get it left alone. I don't chart those. My daughter is my Designated Driver, then I take a big nap at her house - every year. :eyebrow:

For a ......

hehe....
WHAT...?!

OMG.......why the palm of your hand? Does it make it more believable?

DD isn't the only person who did this. It's a Texas thing :/

The execution -

There was a man killed Tuesday, I think it was, behind the Jehovahs Witness church on the transversal road. The story on the local news was that he was told to meet some men back there (on a deserted road that is under construction) and when he showed up they popped him twice in the head. It was reported to be drug activity and it was unclear at the time if the person killed lived on the island. There was speculation that he had recently rented a house in the Corpus Christi area, but that is not confirmed. They were not releasing his name yet. They may have figured that all out by now. But they were calling it an 'execution' on the news and in the papers.

This happend two blocks from our house. My fiancé is a local and he is my source of information. He drove by it and saw the body under the sheet as they were taking it away and asked a cop what was going on. They told him it was a drug deal gone bad.

Same thing I heard Mike - but it was actually Friday night, not Tuesday.
