It is my dream that when I retire from the Army to live on a sailboat, sail around the world VERY slowly, and dive till my heart's content. Are there any board members who are currently living that dream? Do you maintain a compressor on your boat or do you still rent tanks? How often do you actually dive now that you can do it whenever you want? I'm just interested.

Get with the program bro, no man can be that lucky, you will have to get married sooner or later...............

Just for the duration of the cruze :10:

We did 8 months out of the year for 8 years. We were only 11 miles from home but my other half never saw the house for 5 months.

We crused around the lake and dove almost daily.

We got tired of renting a slip so we just bought one.

We did it for a year. Were able to get fills just about everywhere we went without too much trouble, sometimes a long dingy ride. Actually ended up doing a LOT more snorkling than diving due to costs.

I have a friend that runs a term charter boat and lives on board the boat with his wife. They have their own tanks and a compresser on board. People charter the boat for a week at a time to sail around the Carribean. His wife cooks, they both captain, and he teaches and takes people diving. I don't think he does a lot of diving outside of work, but he works pretty much year round so he is diving pretty much year round.

I live on a boat here in London, but if I tried diving off it I'd probably break my neck - max. depth is about 1-1.5m .

Still, no need for a safety stop on the way up 8^)

It may be difficult to get a lot of responses to this post. If I lived on a boat and were diving every day, I don´t know if I´d have internet access or the time to log on regularly if I did.
