One of them is starting get get sticky and it's time to likely rebuild them all. $22 for 7 orings and an LP seat is a tough pill for me to swallow and I cannot see why I cannot just buy the orings. I even may have some but it's been a few years since I've had my second stages apart so I don't have the details handy. If anyone has any sources or dimensions for these orings I'd be grateful.

These are a standard (AS568) dimension

Basically you’re looking for sizes 015, 019, 010 and 011; sometimes indicated as 02-015 …
I’d use D90 for the 015 (likely static barrel ones), and D70-75 for the rest (019 Venturi, 010 orifice, 011 knob) as they all seem dynamic

In the US McMaster is a good source for these; in the EU scubagaskets is

I have no idea what this is

Edit: Ok, these are probably the poppet stem/bal chamber orings; their most likely size is the metric 2.2x1.0mm metric ones (at least for Scubapro that’s what works)
Extrapolating the 2M1XM in the PN might suggest Hog use a 2.0x1.0mm ones
I’d go with a soft duro like D75

The LP seat is more or less ~3.5$/€ from various sources, for any top hat standard seat; I get mine in the EU from scubagaskets(3rd party) or GiDive (oem); in the US I think you can find them here CSS_Seat

So these are all 1/16" orings? Thanks for the hardness, that was my next question :D What is your though on a harder oring for the static seal? Good to know i can get LP seats separately.

Thanks for the details!
Dave

Yes all are 1/16th cross section, except the tiny ones for the popet are metric
harder oring for the static seal?
They’re just more durable, softer ones would work well as well for the barrel
Honestly when I service a 2nd stage, the barrel orings I just inspect and replace only if they seem worn out or scratched

The dynamic ones are more prone to wear (esp with twisting a knob), but “spread” better so are more suitable for such applications

Only in dynamic HP interfaces it starts to become tricky and stiffer orings are needed to withstand the deferential, trading off the softness needed for the movement (like a piston stem oring); D85 tends to be the manufacturer recommendation for such cases

Essentially it comes to the tolerances and design choices of the manufacturer; I’m just extrapolating from my experience with SP regs and what others have investigated and posted about before in previous threads so my guesses could stray on Duro choices (maybe HOG use soft orings for the barrel to compensate for some clearances in the manufacturing between the reg body and the barrel 🤷🏽‍♀️)

Awesome info, thank you. To the point of the poppet valve orings. I have the first gen which the PN says 2x1mm but i see mention of them being 2.42x0.82mm on the D2 w/o any changes to the poppet or balance chamber to warrant that change in spec. Earlier in that post I see someone w/ a caliper measuring them out at 4.08x.079 which i find odd.

Looks like that LP seat at CSS has gone up in price quite a bit if it was $3.50 at one point. Do you know if the LP seats are pretty universal among the different brands? I see no mention of brand looking at this site I just see rivet vs. non. rivet site.

Honestly I’d trust the word of the peeps in yhat thread more, not only have I never touched/seen a Hog reg; the participants there are real experts so whatever they recommend I’d follow
The latter odd size (2.42x0.82, that rsingler reported) is thicker so I’d assume they have the better seal, maybe the 2.2x1 would work just fine as they’re a midpoint 🤷🏽‍♀️

Whoaaaaholy moly, 13.99!!
Yeah besides the Atomic and Sherwood special ones (metal backed) they’re all the same size (almost) — the Apeks ones would fit SP and Hog and so on; 3rd party seats don’t have as good tolerances any ways, unlike the SP OEM ones for example (I buy these from GiDive Store on their EU shopfront — that wouldn’t ship to US)
You might be better off ordering seats from another source like scubagaskets

Yeah, I have to do some more research but it does seem like it's not a 2x1mm. With that said, I've discovered that the Trident A148 LP seat will work on the D1s. I can get 2 on amazon for $18 so still not that great of a deal. Have to keep looking.

Yeah I think Trident is the actual source/manufacturer of the seat (listed at CS)
