I have been trying to contact the Dive shop in Mt. Pleasant, Peninsula Divers. The phone just rings busy. Anyone know when they are open?

Didn't know they even had a dive shop. I've been to Mt. Pleasant. There are no mountains, and it ain't that pleasant. ;-)

jk!

Seriously, I just tried both dive shops and neither phone number works any more.

I know Al sold the shop sometime last year, since then I have not heard from them but have had divers from the area saying that they had closed. Peninsula Divers was located in Mt Pleasent not Midland

I'm aware of two shops local to Midland: Dive & Glide in Auburn (just off US-10 at Mackinaw Rd.) and Seaquatics in Midland. Perhaps one of these shops would meet your needs.

Regards.

I guess that explains why the phone isn't in operation. A couple of years ago, I bought a rental wetsuit for my daughter from Al. She has now outgrown it & I was hoping to get another one.

Try Divers Central in Cadillac,MI also, Morris is Great!!!

They were really nice and very convenient for us. I always thought that shop in Auburn looks a little odd. I have gotten gas across the street a bunch of times. Does anyone have any experience with them? The location is also pretty convenient for me.

I also have had good experiences in Cadillac. Good people.

I have recently begun fostering a relationship with Dive & Glide in Auburn. Keith and Angie are very pleasant to talk to. They seem very earnest in doing right by their customers. I purchased a used reg. My local shop wouldn't service it, but Keith took care of me. (In fact, I think he worked with the shop in Cadillac to get the reg serviced.) Later, I was considering a used equipment purchase for my son. I asked Keith about it, and he alerted me to the age of the equipment, a fact the seller hadn't mentioned. Keith told me that old equipment that hasn't been serviced could require updated parts for certain components, i.e. that there could be hidden costs.

All in all, I like them and hope to give them more business. If they are convenient to your location, I definitely urge you to stop in. Note that they moved recently to just off US-10 at Mackinaw. Call them first if you think you'll need directions. (And tell them David sent you :)).

Thanks, David. We might stop by there today to check them out. We really like Scuba North in Traverse City, but they are not always convenient to us. I have enjoyed the folks in Cadillac, but same problem, an hour out of my way. Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, we won't use Seaquatics, which is absolutely the most conveniently located for me. My office is in Midland and we drive to the Detroit area on a pretty regular basis, driving right past Dive and Glide. Thanks for the heads up about their move. Will definitely share with them who sent us their way:)
