My 4-5 year old Suunto Vyper 2 computer said low battery. Approx 130 dives. OK, upon battery replacement, the manual says all I'll lose is the personal settings and the time. No problem to re -enter those, I thought. I took it to my local LDS, good people actually, and after battery replacement, all my dive history within the memory section of the computer are gone. I do have my written logbook but the dives / info / profiles history is gone. I'm also told that the computer may not log / retain dives in the future. Suunto's comment is " that happens sometimes ". Anybody have experience with this ????

Sadly this seems to be a common problem with 3 to 4 year old Suunto computers. The software starts to behave erratically, see my post 'Suunto Problems' 20th June 2012.

The response from Suunto is also typical, they don't want to know.

njmorrell, thanks for the response. This really sucks..
