My thoughts and prayers go out to the diver, her family, and the people involved in accident/rescue. I hope that we hear something positive soon.

This is a good reminder that divers should have a surface signaling device. That's a long swim in with an unresponsive diver (if they were in the canyon) unless you can attract some attention.
 
Not sure if it's the same incident but there was a report from another diver about a first time dry suit diver going out of control ascent and holding breath thru the ascent, it was in La Jolla this weekend. Don't remember where I saw the post, it may have been in an e-mailed dive report. My prayers go out thr diver and her family, please dive safe folks.
