anyone has DIY'd a fiber optic cable for their strobe?

although im still more inclined to do the DIY fiber optic trigger... i just like it better when i DIY than buying... fellow pinoy divers, anyone knows where i can score one of those fiber optic cables (cable only) from hardware stores here in Manila/Makati? ace hardware? true value? do they sell these?

some updates: i found some fiber optic audio cable being sold at Ace Hardware. cable looks thick enough, and tested it with a flashlight (c/o ace hardware sales guy) and the light creeps from end to end. the DIY plan is getting interesting...
