Its a long drive to Missouri from here. Wrong sub forum maybe?
I'll stick to the saltwater myself.

We had planned to attend last year but as the date got closer the owners of the mine got very concerned that Team Indian Valley Scuba would be there at the event. I think he is afraid of any business competitiors at his site. Sorry that they are that way.

I've dived Bonne Terre several times when visiting in St. Louis.

I don't quite understand how the treasure hunt will work since usually all the dives are guided with staff in the front and in the back of the group.

In response to Indian Valley Scuba
Let's get the FACTS STRAIGHT. In our meeting you represented your company from Harleysville PA. You never mentioned that you were in the process of opening a shop in St. Louis. We found out from a vendor.
Just like you are doing in THIS POST (which is about the TREASURE HUNT) you put a link to your website, a link to your blog, a link to your photo gallery a link to places that you're going a link your second annual eduation dive and a link to your smokin deals. The Treasure Hunt sponsors get GREAT advertising on ScubaBoard, they get to intermingle with the over 170 divers that attend. But just as your doing on this post, your ONLY interested is promoting your business. We spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of man hours coordinating this event. The local dive shops understand that it's unreasonable for them to expect to generate revenue FROM OUR EVENT. However, they DID bring divers to the event, they had a GREAT DAY and some of them won some GREAT prizes.
After I explained that to you, you tried to work IAH as the "company" that you were going to represent. When that didn't work, you tried to come as "a guest of a vendor". As soon as you realized you could not promote YOUR dive shop in St. Louis, you cancelled your donation.
To end with YOUR quote.....Sorry you are that way

Thanks for being on of our "regulars" Here's how the treasure hunt works.
We have 4 differant areas that we use fot he "hunt" (areas a,b,c,d) We dive two groups at a time
One group dives section a, the other groups dives section b. After about 12 minutes searching for tokens in your area, you surface and the groups switch sections. As you're switching, we have staff underwater replenishing the tokens (so each group has the same opportunity)
You complete your first dive (searching areas a&b) you go top side and visist the vendors, play horseshoes, enjoy live music etc. In the afternoon you'll complete your second dive searching in areas c&d. After everyone's second dive, we'll treat you to a GREAT BBQ. Then hold our auction. You use the tokens you found on your dives to bid on the $30,000 in donated prizes.(No cash allowed)
