I really need to go again and was thinking of taking the start of my shift off to do two tanks. It would have to be an early morning trip with me leaving for home by noon at the latest. I'm hoping to do scallops and bugs off my boat.
Anyone else have similar ideas?

Scallops and bugs sound pretty good. Ill bring the pot.

We were going to take the boat out of PTown but it looks like the waters are going to be a little rough.

Couldn't get anyone to cover my shift so it looks like mid-week diving for me. Good luck to those who do go and please post conditions :)

Did a dive today with John L and another diver Mike at Back Beach. This was the first time I dove there since I was certified there last year. I think that it is one of the more under rated dive sites in the Cape Ann area.

We did two dives to about 30 feet each and we probably could have gone deeper if we had really looked, but we didn't. Instead we hung around the rocks and there was plenty to see. I saw many lobstas, but they were kinda soft shelled so I didn't want to grab them too much, because I was afraid that I'd end up crushing them and that wouldn't have done either one of us any good. Instead I screwed around with them though, which I think is quite fun.

John and Mike even saw a 4 ft lobsta. I asked them why didn't they try to catch it, the said that they were afraid. Sounds like a lobsta story to me though. The visibility was good and temp about 50.

How ever I do think that that 4 ft lobsta was just hanging around, because I was picking on its smaller cousins. He did have a moby tatoo on one of its claws, and I think he was carrying some heat.

so I have to ask...if they were your buddies, why did you not see this lobster? Were you diving by yourself?
