Hi,
Has anyone from Canada ordered from DiveInn? Did you have to pay custom fees? I know that ordering stuff out of country and having it shipped via UPS means UPS will charge over $30 custom fees plus the GST.

Darryl

i have never ordered from diveinn but i do buy alot from american suppliers for our store and i just have them declare the contents live saving equipment and it comes duty free you just have to pay gst there is no way around that. besides buy in canada and help our economy. is the savings that great? and do you have a warranty.

Well,
I'm looking to buy 2 sets of regs. I'll probably save about $1000 CDN on the 2. To me its not worth supporting the LDS with that kind of difference.

My $500~ Apeks regs and computer from DiveInn cost me about $30 in customs fees to the US - seeing as the regs and computer cost less than just buying the regs and NO computer locally, I was happy to pay $30. I'm guessing Canada would be about the same sort of rate? DiveInn always ship DHL by the way.

And I've had them for 12 months and no there was no question of warranty being required in that time.

I'm only in the states for a year or two, and "my" LDS is 12,000km away in Melbourne, Australia, so I almost always shop online.

Ben,
Unfortunately its completely different when it comes to the US and Canada. We each have our own set of custom laws. For instance, (because of NAFTA) if I ship something from the US, I pay GST on anything over $20 (or $60 if its a gift), but thats all - no customs fees. With Spain though, who knows. . .

my wife called canada customs with the same question re us made dive gear shipped to us in canada. they were very helpful, if you know exactly what you are buying. call 204 983 1157

if it is us made no duty.
if elsewhere ie mares its a case by case basis, the need all the info ie modle #'s
