Has anyone noticed the park fees will be about $180 per dive day from 1st January 2025? And it looks as though foreign retirees will now have to pay as well as the under 60s

I'm going in Feb and I just looked it up. The waiver for retirees over 60 who can prove they are retired is still in effect as far as I can tell. Where do you see that it is not?

Why are they doing this?
Is it just a money grab to soak rich Americans?

Or they could be trying to end diving in Soccoro just like they killed Great White Shark diving at Guadeloupe. The Pacific coast of Mexico is used by the narco subs, and who wants their sub packed full of cocaine reported or even worse struck by a LOB cruising thru the area with a bunch of divers on board.
I'm glad I was able to dive Guadeloupe 2x before it was shut down, and have been to Soccoro also.

Are you sure about the foreign retirees will now have to pay as well? Please provide a resource. That would change everything for my husband and I who are currently exempt.

I had two trips to Guadalupe that were cancelled because of Covid and then the permanent shutdown of the park. I was able to dive Socorro twice before the past two hikes in fees. If I had an upcoming trip, I'd be pissed and would look to cancel. Mexico is a money-grabbing country.
