I'm a newbie..only about 50 dives under my belt and never been to the Jetties. I would like to make a quick weekend trip this weekend. I would arrive Thursday evening (6/16) and leave Sunday morning. That means I could dive Friday and Saturday mornings.

If you don't mind a newbie, air-hog tagging along then I would be grateful! Thanks.

Doccarl and I and maybe kmenees could dive Saturday. I've been to the jetty once but Doccarl has been multiple times so he could act as tour guide. I'm going to call the park before this weekend because they were dredging the channel earlier this summer.

Yeah, it looks like I'm good to go on Saturday morning. I think the plan is to be over in the PCB area by 8 or 9, and we can go from there.

Do you mind if I tag along? I'm still a bit of an air-hog but I'm comfprtable with letting my buddy(s) know when I get low and that I'm heading up and going back on my own. If you're OK with it, just PM me with a description to look for (car, etc...).

No problem, definitley will let you know all the details and contact info if you can't find us. We may have a fourth joining us too, but I'll confirm that since they are coming from the gulfport area. Can't wait!

The dredging is completed and all dredge gear is gone. If you aren't aware, you want to dive on an incoming tide, maybe 2 hour before high tide and just a little area. That gives the best viz possibilities and current. Dive it 2 ways: get in at the kiddie pool and swim over the rocks to do an out and back along the jetty or get in on the beach side and do a drift dive around the end of the jetty and drift in. Either way is cool.

One more thing: Bring a flag. FWC Police are known to follow your bubbles and issue citations for diving without one.

Have fun.

Thanks Captain Bil. I'll need to rent tanks and I'll get a dive flag, too.
