On the 11th or 12th or how about the 18th or 19? I am getting a ich to dive this week end or the next. Let me know if there are any trips coming up,
thanks

I'll be at Cerulean on the 11th and 12th. Be there with an Instructor and probably his son doing my checkout dives.

I am probably going to dive at the treasure hunt at Cerulean on the 18th. There will be a group from the Evansville area (see the link in my signature) at Pennyroyal on the 19th, if you're interested.

I am also considering the Treasure Hunt on the 18th at DC ! It's for a great cause.

Hmmm. I might have to rent some gear for that weekend. Anybody feel like havin a newbie tag along? Not sure if the treasure hunt might be a bit advanced for me or not. Could be a good learning experience. I'll have to see how my qualification goes this weekend. What exposure suit do I need for pennyroyal? I don't know too many details about it other than that its deeper and colder.

Shouldn't be too hard for a newbie. Cerulean's only about 35' deep (if you dig a little bit). In most treasure hunts I've seen you search for a golf ball that have #'s on them that correspond to a prize (although this one could be a little different). The only difficult part is the visibility. With a bunch of divers scouring the bottom for golf balls...... you get the idea, it drops pretty quick. I know Pennyroyal still hasn't completely cleared up since the one held there in July. They're a lot of fun though. I'll be there with a few members of a local diving club, you could feel free to join up with us. We'll buddy up or group up as needed. Our group looks at it this way- there's always room for 1 more.

I talked to the shop today and I'll be all certified and ready to rock and roll in plenty of time for the treasure hunt. I didn't know it was for the wounded warriors foundation either. (found that out talkin to my instructor) being a soldier and multiple combat tour veteran, I don't see how I could pass up something like this. I've already arranged rental gear and everything... just need a dive buddy. How much is it to enroll and what all needs to be brought? Last I heard vis was around 10 feet... so I'm guessing that by the time the hunt kicks off it'll be about 0. Lovely. I don't have a light or anything like that, hell I don't have anything but the basics. Still wouldn't mind goin and being a part of it though. Don't suppose anyone has any information about it and the organization throwin it? If its here on Ft. Campbell and involves diving, I'd love to be a part!

The entry fee is $35 for civilian & $30 for military (doesn't say if veteran or active or not but that military ID is required). By the way, Thank you for serving  . The quarry opens at 8:00, a dive briefing at 10:30 & the hunt begins at 11:00 & lasts until 12:00. You can look up more info at www.underwaterwarriors.org & download an entry form. Like I said you're welcome to join our group & we'll pair off or group up as necessary. I think we'll have a banner & maybe a small booth there, just look for or ask for Evansville Scuba Club. I'm sure some of us will also have T-shirts with the same logo on them. As for anything beyond basic equipment, it's probably not really necessary. Lights won't do you much good in 0 vis. & the quarry is shallow enough that you will most likely run out of air before NDL unless you really sip air. The only thing you might want is maybe a thin wet suit (depending on how easily you get cold). It's mostly very warm (probably close to 88- 85 degrees), but can get chilly down at the back wall near the spring.

Thanks Tammy. I'll have to try and find you guys when I get there. I don't think I'll be doin much "sipping" of air being a newbie and all. Guess we'll see. I'll get with you for some more info and everything once it gets a little closer to next weekend. Looking forward to meeting you all. Thanks!
