Where do you want to go? There's great diving from Kingston all the way to Cornwall.

Brockville is a nice town with a couple of good dives and it's sorta in the middle of everything. Northern Tech Diver is the shop to hit if you want to get on any of the Lake Ontario wrecks.

Want me to move this to the Ontario Fresh Water Freaks section? You'll probably get a better response.

There seems to be a rash of threads in NELD about other regions....

If you have a question about diving in Florida, or Canada, or California...post it in *that* forum...you'll get much better responses.

It's kind of like asking someone in Los Angeles where you can get a good cup of Chowder in Boston.

That being said, I'm headed up there this weekend and will be diving with www.actionscuba.com. I know nothing about them, though, but will post a report of some sort when I get back.

ScubaSarus:
Looking for were to go, dive shop to patronize, and were to stay.

Thanks

Some members of dive club are going in August (weekend of 5th, 6th, 7th) One of our club members had to bag out so there is room for one more if you want to join us. PM me with your coordinates and can fill you in on details. We're going with operator out of Brockville.

I agree, try the Ontario Fresh Water Freaks page.

BTW, the temp in the St. Lawrence is 74 degrees. Going out again tomorrow evening.

lord1234:
74 degrees to what depth?

Usually the surface temp is the same or similar to the temp at max depth. July 2nd dove the Keystorm to 107 feet and the temp was 70F top to bottom. The swift current of the St. Lawrence usually means not much thermocline.

There is no thermocline, except when you get closer to Lake Ontario. There is always a current(very slow to ripping) and the river usually is the same top to bottom. The vis varies from a few feet to about twenty, between Cornwall/ Massina and Brockville.

Reason I'm on this board, is we were just on the Maine coast visiting relatives and thinking of returning in the fall and getting in a couple of dives. You guys have the nicest coastline, we loved it! Great food, people and location.

I really appreciate all the help. After busting my but 7 hrs a day on Spanish for 10 weeks I'm going to need a get away. This is great stuff.

I'll check out that link abit closer tonight Chris RI-O
