Anyone able to recommend a Dive trainer in the Ventura County area? (Calabasas)

You're very welcome. From reading most of your posts, you 'sound' like my instructor, when I first did my open water dives. I still think he is one of the best around. And so do many other instructors.
I hope Dolphin and you hook up. A good instructor will lead a student to years of good diving.
