Well it's time to resurrect this thread. We've put together a U-boat and wreck diving expedition to Cape Lookout NC for June 24 - 28th. We'll be diving with Discovery Diving and staying in their dive lodge. Discovery Diving Co., Inc. - North Carolina Wreck Diving in the Graveyard of the Atlantic

We'll probably be diving the U-352, Schurz, Box Wreck, Cassimer, Hutton, Carib Sea, Atlas, Spar, etc.

We've lost 4 divers this week due to medical issues and have at least 6 spots open. So PM me with an e-mail address if you are interested and I will send you more detailed information. You can post general questions in the forum.

We'll have a carpooling groups leaving from the B'ham and Decatur, AL areas.

Is this technical diving or recreational?

Jim's right in that this is a recreational charter. But if we can put enough divers onboard to control the boat, which until the recent spell of medical issues wasn't going to be a problem, it's a really advanced recreational charter.

From scubaboard we've got myself, Jim, Rocketman, and Jeepbrew definitely going and Flygirl as a probable.

We've got a mixture of really good recreational divers, really advanced recreational divers, and technical divers. Jim's group is going to be diving doubles and penetrating wrecks. My group will be diving large singles with Nitrox, have pony bottles, penetrating wrecks, and maybe doing some light deco. The really good recreational divers are going to be pushing NDL's, maybe get into some light zone penetration, and having a blast.

As you can see we are planning to hit some of the better and some of the less dived wrecks there. But we are planning on hitting 2 wrecks per day so no extended deco dives. The Charter asks that we do no extended staged decompression dives. So if the doubles divers dive the same profiles the singles divers with big tanks do there won't be any problems.

So if you don't mind diving an advanced recreational charter and want to hit these wrecks we'd enjoy diving with you.
