If I understand the article correctly, the watch wasn't bought for $9.95 but instead was originally listed at $9.95 on eBay. The original owner bought it when he was in the Navy and my guess is it was more than $9.95 even 52 years ago.

Fifty two years ago. Hmmm.

Probably not a whole lot more than $9.95.

Regardless of the original price, assuming the check's good he just made himself a tidy profit. If I can make it another 45 years, maybe I'll put my Sea-Dweller on eBay. :)

That's my plan with my Sea Dweller 4000, the last year of that model.

My bad. You're right. I didn't read it correctly. I thought that sounded like a really good price, even 52 years ago in a Navy BX.
