WOW, talk about fantastic, I'm told I'm spoiled now. Let's see the waves at Monastary were...what waves, do 4" ankle slappers count as waves? Point Lobos, whalers cove was flat as glass and you could see the bottom on the swim out. The sun was shining all day, no fog and in the upper 70's (if not low 80's). Saw plenty of fish, nudis, snails and the like. Had a curious harbor seal hanging out with us too, very cool. We could only get in 1 dive, as Scubajunkee had some dumb commitment like going to work, but what a dive day anyway. We met Cali68 getting ready to do some scooter dives with his buddies, very nice to meet yet another SBer. SJ took a bunch of photos and will be posting later, my camera had battery problems so no UW photos fo me this time.
The gear is soaking and I'm ready for a cold beer and a hot shower.

btw: I didn't forget my weights this trip, but nobody told me I needed my C-card :D
The nice lady called PADI to verify my certification, very nice, but they won't do that on the weekends.

We swam out to the front of the cove and dropped down, took a heading due north, and returned due south, don't know the names of the places though.

note to self put at least one cert card in wallet :D

David,

We headed out towards Granite Pt, but did quite make it all the way out. Sinced we dropped in pretty early, I say we were halfway there. I did a quick review of the pics and looks like there quite a few keepers. You can check my Yahoo photos site later this evening at http://photos.yahoo.com/scubajunkee. They're organized by date and location. I should have it posted around midnight or so.

Hi David, really nice to meet you guys as well! The X Scooter dive went great! We crossed middle reef, hit granite point wall proceeded out to the GP Pinnacles then crossed all the way over to Beto's Reef and final back along Cannery Point Wall. Amazing dive! We saw a beautiful Leopard Shark in the shallows on the way out and caught a quick glimpse of a GPO at 100'. What a great day!

Joe T got some great video footage (Shark and all). I'll let you know when it's up on the 5thd-x site.
