Just looking to test a new reg set, BP/W, buoyancy, and camera housing. Would love some place that you can park on the sand or very near the water. I'm in Key West and fairly new here, so I was hoping maybe someone knew of a nice spot in the Lower Keys. I know there's nothing to really see except sand and grass while going in from the shore, but I'm just going to be testing/adjusting gear. Thanks for any input!!

In a word... No. Just bite the bullet and go on a cattle boat.

Yeah, but want to test some new gear. Mainly want to find my buoyancy. Dived caves and caverns in central Florida for years. This will be my first time in saltwater. And want to get use to handling a full size DSLR camera housing underwater too.

Trust me, I'll end up on many cattle boats before it's all over. Haha!

I saw something on YouTube with some people diving a quarry at Horseshoe Beach…I think it was just down from Bahia Honda, maybe? Never been there, but maybe something to look into?

This.
Only place I can think of.
I have dived it. Very silty, but if one wants to get dive in it'll work.
Being a quarry, you don't have to swim far for depth. Its 20-30 iirc.
