In addition to the feeding dives, while in the Bahamas, I swam into an opening in the side of a (diver-safe) small wreck, only to encounter a Carribean reef shark heading in the opposite direction. Needless to say, I "politely" -and quickly- moved out of the way.

I was on the Turks and Caicos Aggressor last July and we made the trip out to the remote French Cay. On our first dive we were treated to the presence of 8 or so 5 -8 ft. Carribean Reef Sharks swimming around us.

The second dive, I waited for the diver before me to move out and then I began my stride off the platform. In mid stride I heard the Capt. say "oh no" and, as I looked down, I saw the shape of a 6' Reef Shark directly below me. I barely missed the tail as I entered the water. The shark turned to look at me as I made a quick descent.

We encountered sharks on most dives on that trip, they were always curious but not threatning. Truly amazing creatures to watch.

The blacktip & a couple of his buddies were in "chomping mode" following a school of jacks that passed around me; they were gobbling up the stragglers.
Have some pics of a big 'cuda stealing my dinner at the same spot. Have to dig 'em up.
