I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for the stiffer Vector compound. There’s a demand signal for the “Vector Pro S” out there (apparently JJ himself) but it seems not enough to warrant a production run.

I did handle the new heavier weight inserts. They're HEAVY.

I think I’m going to maximize the Vectors I’ve got and definitely add the Deep 6 Heavy Eddys to the quiver when they hit US shores.

Thank you! I am thinking of getting them without ballast/weights.

Are they needed - even with drysuits?

I am not dry suit certified yet, neither do i own a pair of jetfins. I need a pair of non-rec fins, and would prefer something lighter for travel (only dive trips for me). My wife will be getting a pair of pink Deep6/Jetfins

If you’re looking for a warm water, wetsuit fin, I’d skip the pricey Vectors. There are plenty of other fins that shine in this category (Deep6 Eddy, DR XT, some SP models, Fourth Element, etc).

The Vectors with the removable weights are intended to span from wetsuit (no weights) to drysuit duty (weights inserted).

And purchasing the Vector without the weights seems like a superfluous purchase at ~$100 more than a regular fin. That would be like purchasing a 200m reel and only loading it with a spool length of line (i.e, 60m or less).

Have recently acquired a pair of these beauties so thought I’d add my two cents!

In Salt the fins are neutral with one weight insert each. In Fresh they’re slightly positive without a weight insert and slightly negative with one.

Will be doing DS dive in fresh next week so will be chucking two weights in each and seeing how that fares.

The screws are ultimately fit an M6, so I’ve Frankenstein’d some 20mm M6 bolts with a countersunk head, added a little bit (5mm) of plastic sheath at the top of the bolt (but don’t think that’s entirely necessary, just stops the bolt moving about in the socket). Which I’m using as spares. Having changed the weight pocket inserts a few times I can confirm the screws are crap and will not last long. Hence some decent steel bolts as potential replacements.

Will see how the trim in the DS is before looking at the heavy inserts. Am also trying to see if a local machine shop can make them as they’re very $$$ - slightly annoyed considering the price of the fins, assumed the heavy inserts would come with!

Overall good performance from the fins so far. Not had them in any strong current yet but frog kick in mild current has good power.

You’re awesome. Thank you for posting.
