Beast and I will be going to Florida in August, probably around the Pompano Beach/Ft. Lauderdale area, plans aren't final yet. While we are there we'd like to drive down and dive the Speigel Grove. Can some of you locals give me a recommendation for a good dive op to use? I read the post below but the only dive op really mentioned was Blue Water Divers. Any others you'd recommend?

Thanks

Hay Dee,

The last time we did the Grove we went out with Ocean Divers . They seemed to be a good group of people and the boat was nice.

When you guys get into town here in Ft. Lauderdale PM me, if you can, and maybe a bunch of us locals from the scubaboard can hook up and show you guys some of our great dive sites.

Dove with http://www.diverscityusa.com/ in December and Barbara runs a good operation. Cheap diving to if you buy a 6 or 10 dive card.

I was refered to Divers City by others on the SB. Nice op!

I like Silent World, myself. Not very crowded, reasonable price, nice people. I did two tanks on the Spiegel in January with them.

Here's their contact info (from their web site
http://www.pennekamp.com/sw):

Silent World Dive Center is located at MileMarker 103.2 bayside, in Key Largo's Central Plaza. For reservations or further information, call us at 800-966-DIVE (3483) or 305-451-3252;

divers city along with island ventures are, in my opinion the best dive operaters in the upper keys.

Divers City would be my 1st choice, but they've moved to Tavernier. Do they go that far north?

You might try Quiescence, they run 6 packs. Some of the other suggestions are cattle boats.

Dee:
dive the Speigel Grove. . Any others you'd recommend?

Thanks

When I go up North to dive the Grove I always go with one or the other of those 2.

When we went for DEMA last year, we visited the SG using Dive In. Very friendly and good service. If you want some more specifics I'll be glad to tell you about it, just PM me.

For a list of dive shops try www.keysweb.info

Thanks everyone, that's just what I needed.

Scott, as soon as the trip details are finalized, we'll have abetter idea of our KL schedule. But I'll let you know when we get it figured out.

Cool Dee, when you have more plans, please let us know so we can throw a party...up for any beach diving?
