I am not available on those dates, but I am interested to know more about this site. I was not aware there was a sunken aircraft dive here in S. Korea.

Is it recent, did Un put it there, what about the Red Peril

Hey there, are you out of Seoul? I am in Daejeon. This is a US military transport aircraft and in restricted waters, but we have permission from the local AirForce Base.

I am in Daegu. Chat GPT tells me there are no sunken aircraft that are recreational dives sites here in South Korea.

Please drop the coordinates of this US military aircraft. As far as I know, ANY military aircraft that is sunken is restricted and protected and not open to random divers.

Reach out to these guys. They're regularly in that area documenting wrecks for the military.

We are working with a ROK sonar company and with the permission of the ROKAF. I am retired US Army, conflict archaeologist and VP of Heroes-Wings. The site is restricted, thus the need for permission from the ROKAF. We are not recreationally diving, rather we are surveying. My daughter just PCSed to Camp Henry, so I am down in Daegu monthly.

Gotcha. I didn't realize this was an actual survey of a downed aircraft. Although you used the word survey I thought perhaps you may not have beeen a native speaker and meant recreationally diving some aircraft that we may have never heard of getting all excited of a new dive site!

Sounds like an awesome project nontheless!

P.S. I am in Daegu but not military. Sure wish I had a nice DOD job though!

Please share what are the requirements (licenses, equipment) for divers to do this, and the details of the dive. I likely dont qualify but I would LOVE to do some unique job like this, and can clear my schedule!
