Hey everybody,
A buddy of mine is just getting back into diving. I figured a nice, shallow, shore dive is a nice way to ease back into the world of diving. I have been reading about the Lofthus, and I think it fits the bill. I have some info from (what else?) Mike Barnett's Shipwrecks of the Sunshine State, and a li'l bit online. As far as location goes, I see that it is about 1/4 mile N of Boynton inlet, about 500 feet offshore. Is anyone familiar with the site? Are there any markers out there? I'm also curious about logistics, such as parking, beach access, etc. If anyone has info on the Lofthus, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks alot,
Rich

yeah....I'm not that familiar with Manalapan, but from that view, there is no parking, and i would have to sneak through someone's yard to get to it. Oh well, back to the drawing board. Anyone got any ideas on a good, easy shore-dive spot in the jupiter to boynton area?

Was just there a couple of weeks ago. It is closer to a mile north of Boynton Inlet. We usually park in one of the inlet parking lots and walk up on the beach. Of course I am free diving, no tanks. They've up up some fencing at a likely drop off point recently removing that option. It is real shallow, some free diving should be fine. Also, you can see it on google earth. It is about 800 ft. off of the fifth house on the beach north of the S turn on A1A. It covers a lot of bottom and there are frequently boats on it so it is fairly easy to find.
