No, it isn't. LP is not an Aqua Lung dealer.

Leisure Pro is NOT an authorized Aqua Lung dealer

That's exactly why I said I won't buy from LP. But it is a good deal, if you don't care about not getting free parts for life:wink: I don't think any online site is an authorized Aqualung dealer for that matter. Still in any case I recommend buying your life support equipment from your local LDS. That way you can get free service for a few years, free replacement parts for life and if you have any problem with the equipment its much more easier to make right.

Whether LP is a good deal depends on whether you want/need to have your regulator serviced every year.

If you don't clean/inspect/take care of your regulator, then you want to have it serviced every year.

If you get >100 dives in yearly, then you want to have it serviced every year.

Otherwise, just save your money, go for the LP deal (or wherever), read couv's excellent sticky about inspection, and have your reg serviced whenever it needs servicing, no more, no less.

You are correct, there are no authorized online Aqua Lung dealers. As far as free service, guess it depends on the LDS but the free replacement parts for life is a good deal. But the stipulation is that you must have it serviced at least once a year every year to maintain this offer.

Zeagleexpress.com has the Flathead VI for $360.
I'm personally an Apeks and/or Scubapro guy but that is a GREAT price on a GREAT regulator!

Aqua Lung is currently offering a $100 rebate for the purchase of a new regulator set.

Nope, that offer expired almost five years ago:
Offer expires July 31, 2004 and is valid only for purchases made after April 1, 2004.

My apologies to the OP for the outdated link. Apparently Aqua Lung has not yet updated the web site.

I did however call the dive shop and they said the rebate is basically $100 dollars for regulator purchases over $500 and $50 for regulators purchased under $500 through August 09.

You should be able to get this information from any Aqua Lung dealer. Keep an eye on the link for updates soon.

Thanks. AL really doesn't do enough of these deals, given their MAP pricing restrictions. :sigh:

Free service after a reg purchase? What kind of crazy LDS do you have? :)

If my LDS offered a few years of that on a new reg, it could make the difference between, well, a sale and no sale. It would make their price competitive with online.

Thanks to all the posters... Looks like I will be going with ScubaToys. I emailed them to ask about getting a cheaper RG1215 octo on that RG2500, adding the enviro kit, customizing hoses, and adding a compact Tusa console and they gave me a great price on the whole shebang.

Hopefully your joking....cause almost all the LDS's in my area offer at least 1 or 2 years of service with the purchase of a new reg.

When it comes down to it, if I purchased my reg from Leisure Pro and then went to get it serviced for a few years at my local LDS it would equal out to being more expensive then if I would have just purchased it at my LDS to begin with.

I'm sure if you haggled with your local LDS they would atleast throw in a couple years of servicing, if not lower the price all together. A lot of retail stores are suffering in this bad economy and are more then willing to give a price break to their loyal customers.
