Does anyone know of any dive package deals for Cozumel, say late July or early August?

The Aura Wyndham is offering a stay 5 days (maybe 5 nights-can't remember) get 3 days of 2 tank diving free with SDS. However the Aura is not necessarily a bargain spot. Good Luck!

Does it have to be a package deal? The reason I ask is you may want to check it different ways. Sometimes it is cheaper for us to book the airfare and hotel together, usually through Worryfree, Apple or Funjet, but most of the time it is cheaper for us to book them separately. We use Dive With Martin and email them to let them know when are coming and pay when we get there. Good luck!
Depends on what you mean by "package." Many of the boutique operators* have various arrangements with some of the popular hotels or nice rental condos and houses and can put together a very attractive package for accommodations and diving. They're not going to be much help with airfare, though.
Personally, we arrange each aspect of the trip separately ourselves so we get what we want and understand the various costs.
I strongly suspect that you can get quite good deals on the island for rooms in July or August. We were once upgraded to an oceanfront suite at the Presidente when we'd booked a regular rack rate room in August.
*a number of good examples of which can found via a cursory reading of this board and its stickies.

Not sure of the ops out of LA. But in Houston, we get great deals from Funjet.com & Continental vacations.
I will be heading to Coz. in mid July. We found a package at Scuba Club Cozumel, 7nts 5 day 2tnk dives, all meals (alc. not incl) We booked our own air. Total 1250.00 pp incl. air.

It basically comes out to $200 off the hotel portion of the trip. The airfare portion of the ticket was the same price as if I had booked it seperately. I am staying at the Villablanca in the large room with balcony for $37/day including taxes. I even checked the price of just booking hotel only on Orbitz and it was going to cost me $70+ per night for the same room.

Yeah, getting a complete package (air, hotel & diving) is a tough combo unless you are working with an LDS that will put that together for you.
I've done it both ways..Can get some good deals on air+hotel on the sites above, then book your diving. Or look at the hotel/dive shop websites and book that with air seperately. I have heard a number of places including Casa Del Mar, Hotel Cozumel and Scuba Club are all offering 5+4+3 deals this summer. (5 nights hotel, 4 days diving, 3 meals) for about $599 a piece.

FYI: Frontier Airlines has a direct flight from Denver. For me, I was able to actually find the best rates using Frontier Airline Vacations (About $200 less than Orbitz). For four adults, including airfare, staying at the Aura was $1,200 each. The diving package can be added on by calling the hotel directly - at least that is what 1-800-Wyndham told me; However I called and had no luck talking with the reservations gal. I might give it another go later in the month. However at that price point, I'll probably just take care of the diving on my own. Happy Travels!
