Any FAU/BCC divers?

No sure about the dive club, but there are more then enough of us who gather on Saturday mornings for beach dives. We usuall post in the trips forum..

The dive club IS active. I am a member. However, there has not been a great deal of diving due to lack of funds. This semester should bring more students and more opportunities to gain more attention. The more attention and organized events we have the more money we get. Things like "clean the reef" or "clean the beach" are great ways to raise attention. I am excited to see if theis semester boosts membership.

The dive club is currently seeking anyone willing to help raise money and attention. Also, the dive club would like to see more people attending the meetings to discuss upcoming dives, events, and the current financial standing.

Until the new semester starts the dive club is meeting online in the dive club open chat. Log into you FAU account, add the dive club under groups and then join the chat. Youll get an email prior to each one.

Sure, it was focused on philanthropy. We are wanting to raise attention by donating time. We need a theme and speaker for each month ending December. For example, for October we are thinking of a scary topic for Halloween like wreck penetration. Maybe December we could do something on cold water diving and a "get your picture taken on Santa's lap underwater" event. lol

We need ideas for the rest of the months in the year. One month the club can volunteer a beach and reef cleanup. Basically, we need dive related ideas. Maybe a movie played somewhere about reef conservation.

Also, we would like something touching on dive safety. Maybe something like dive flag awareness. Its been really difficult thinking of good dive related activities. We need to donate time to the community!

Start thinking! The next meeting online will be Monday at 6pm. Try and make it!

There is an Event/Membership Committee online meeting tonight at 7pm in
the chatroom. Please attend we have several issues to discuss and nail
down in order to have a successful semester!!! We have essentially run
out of time with school starting next week and if we dont address these
issues the club funding may not allow for us to be active! I urge
please attend the meeting tonight if possible in order to organize the
club in a manner that you would enjoy being active in it. Thank you

Anyone from Florida Atlantic University or Broward Community College Dive?

there is supposedly a Divers club for FAU but it seems I can never get a hold of anyone.


Just trying to find out if there are more students like myself getting into diving or they are already divers

Just joined. Moved down here a year ago, go to FAU part time, and just started diving in April..always down to meet new divers!
