Hi all,

Barry, our huge barrel sponge, is rapidly dying!

We are in West Papua, Indonesia.

Are there any sponge disease experts or researchers out there who would be interested in helping us identify what is causing this?

The deterioration has been extremely rapid, taking place just over the past few weeks and proceeding at an alarming rate.

My research on the internet only brought up Sponge Orange Band but I only saw it referred to for the Caribbean, and we are in Asia Pacific.

Any ideas as to what it is? We would really like to know as we are really sad about the sponge's death. I'm attaching a photo but I have more if you would like to see more, just PM me.

Thanks for any help!!
