Hi all,
Recently I try to build up my second reg for research/teaching purpose.
Before, I never really have a octopus, only use AIR II or similar product to reduce the hose tangled.
Due to teaching request I am considering to put the octo on it, but I still like to disconnect the octo when I do research diving.
Because normally I dive far from other divers to reduce the diver effect of marine bio, and reduce the tangle when I carry other different equipments (ex: barrier net, hand net, catch bag. lift bag etc)
So I start to research any accessory can let me disconnect the octo quickly, I found this stuff.
2nd Stage Quick Disconnect System
Fittings-QuickDisconnects

I am not sure if its exactly what I thought.
I need a quick disconnect adapter connect with 1 stage and the hose of octo.
So I can just take the hose of octo off and keep it some where.
Therefore, the adapter should be 3/8" male connect to 1 stage and another part should be 3/8" as well to connect the LP hose.

Any one can help me confirm if this stuff is what I need?
And any people have experience with this one?
Is it safe, no blow and leaking?

Cheers
Colin

It only takes a minute at most to add or remove a hose using a wrench and allen key, so I don't know if the additional quick release is really necessary.

QD's have the habit of doing exactly that at the most inconvient times.
Stick with the allen key and plug.

I have to agree with the two gentlemen above; it takes less than a minute to remove a hose and install a plug. However to answer your question, the fittings in the picture you linked to are for the other end of the hose. They are for the end that quick couples onto an inflator or octo/inflator.

Thanks everyone.
Yes, after think through it, I agree with your opinion.
It just take couple mins to take off/put on.
And normally I bring a multi-tool with me in my diving bag.
After saving some bucks, I can shop something else.

Thanks again for people's suggestion. very useful.
