I know of one club, The Water Dawgs aquaticadventuresutah.com from Clearfield Utah. I heard that the new adventurewestscuba.com shop in South Ogden was trying to start a club up but have not heard back from them yet on when that will happen.

I was just wondering if there are any active members of these clubs or others I am not aware of on this board.

Clubs in the pure sense? Unfortunately not! Most ‘clubs’ in Utah are ‘sponsored’ by the LDS and consist of a ‘newsletter’ and ‘club’ discounts. I would check with Dive Utah in Ogden and see if what they have fits your need. You may also want to check with Weber State University they may have one. There is an independent club in SLC that recently started up. I’ll PM you an email address if your interested.

I prefer to have a little more fun then just diving so an LDS based club would not work for me. Dive Utah seems to be older gentlemen that don't want to dive in Utah anymore. I was certified there and every time I asked about diving in Utah I was told, Utah diving sucks lets set you up on a Fiji trip or Caribbean trip. The problem is I can't afford those kinds of trips more then once or twice a year. So I thought if I could get hooked up with a club or a group of regulars that do local dives often. I just want to dive and explore! But I am still getting my feet wet and thought it would be great to surround myself with experience divers. What dive shop do you instruct for? and what brand of instructions do you do?

I'll send you a PM with a contact here in SLC. Hopefully what they have will work for you. I would post it here but I don't have permission to advertise their contact info.

Yes on the people who work there full time, but talk to either Garth, Tina or Austin about other things that are going on. I've found that Bob and Greg like to try to get you on one of their big trips they do all the time, and the others will just tell you how it is, especially Garth.

Also, I'm interested also in any information about a local club, I'm in SLC a lot anyway, so distance isn't such an issue, especially since there's now a train so I don't have to drive.

Can you also PM me the email for the dive club in SLC? I'm a relatively new diver and live in Ogden. If anyone around here wants to get together and go diving, send me a PM. I've only been to the Seabase and the Crater and I want to get out and explore the lakes around here.

I know this is an old thread, but just for FYI we just finished with Dive Utah and have been invited to dive several local spots and haven't once tried to push an expensive trip on us.
