also, if anyone has already done it, I would welcome any comments

from the 'net......“ One of the more recent shipwrecks to dive in the Sound is the tugboat Celtic. It sank on the night of November 17, 1984, off Norwalk, CT. The Celtic was pushing a barge full of scrap metal from Bridgeport, CT to New Jersey. When the barge took on water and quickly sank, it took the Celtic with it. Today, both ships rest in approximately 65 feet of water, 1.5 miles south of Sheffield Island.”

OK. Are charters still running in that part of the sound. I called a dive center last year for chartes in the sound and they told me the vis was too horrible to make a profit keep running a charter in that area. The Essex is also in the South Westwern sound which is also a low vis dive.

Celtic Wreck Dive Sunday Afternoon August 28th...

his capacity he said was 14 divers, but he runs with 10 paying divers + 2 divemasters normally....

he's offering a two-for-one special in August to get old (& new customers) and this weekend is obviously the last one...I've asked a couple that I met on an orbit marine charter, but they seem to be always iffy, (even more so than me)....but it's only $25, if just to get wet & not have to hike up to Cape Ann

buddy still needed :07:
