does any one know how to make anti-fog?
for snorkel masks so they dont fog up
i heard you can use detergent and water does this work?

The parsimonious will espouse the virtues of spit first and baby shampoo second. The profligate (me) will recommend Sea Drops or Sea Gold. All are effective to varying degrees, roughly in price order.

Mcnett Sea Gold Anti-Fog Gel, 1.25 oz. from LeisurePro.com

dunk mask in ocean, spit on the inside of the mask/lense, rub it with your finger all over the lense then a quick rinse back into the ocean. put on face and go diving

been doing it this way for 10yrs and always works

cheers :D

You can also use dishwashing liquid (detergent) as the OP mentioned, with the same rinse/wipe/rinse regime

Manufacturers of dedicated anti-fogs will say spit - containing, as it does, bacteria - leads to contamination/deterioration of the mask

/shrugs

:rofl3: Take a moment to think about the huge amount of life in fresh or sea water (better not swallow), not to mention the micro-organisms living on your face.

Do You Know What Lives In Your Eyelashes? .......

Diluted baby shampoo has worked fine for me when spit didn't suffice.

Meh, I've mostly used spit for the last ten years - plus the occasional dose of toothpaste, dishwashing liquid or anti-fog when they were proffered - and have no complaints either way

I'm just saying it doesn't seem ridiculous; and repeating the claims of those who have the previously stated vested interests
