Question for the doc's.
Can a student still dive while on anti depressants?

This has been discussed at length on this and other boards. Looks like the link I had set up didn't work. Anyway, do a search under diving medicine using the keyword SSRI. You'll find all kinds of threads on the subject.

I can only speak for myself since I'm a marine ecologist rather than a medical doctor. I've been diving while taking anti-depressants (Paxil, Trazodone) for the past 16 years without any apparent effects. Of course I'd been diving for many years before that which meant I was relaxed in the water and with the equipment well before I started medication. A student who is prone to anxiety, etc., may have a different reaction on their first entry.

It was like reading my PDR, lot of interesting information in there. Better to be educated instead of going in blind. Thanks for the support and direction.
