I vote for air for the pony. You just cannot foresee every situation you may get in when things go south and you don't want to have to deal with ox toxicity .
There was a diver death here last year (Henry Cook) who was believed to inadvertently breathe from his Nitrox filled pony at depth. It's likely he suffered a convulsion and drowned.
 
Since I dive air the majority of the time, that's what's in the pony. I don't feel it's worthwhile to change the mix to match my back gas, since once I switch to the pony I'm making a quick, yet orderly, retreat to the surface. Any marginal increase in N2 I can deal with by extending the safety stop if the gas is available, or extend my SI.

The concept of a pony is for emergency gas, having it filled with a gas you can not necessarily use in an emergency is counterproductive.

If you are diving 32% and have to go to your pony and it has air, the minuscule amount of added nitrogen loading is not your biggest concern.
