Another Key Largo Thread

I've searched the old threads for Key Largo dive operators and found some comments and good links.

I will be staying across the street from "Ocean Divers", but "Capt Slate's" gets a lot of press.

Has anyone gone out on both "Ocean Divers" and "Capt Slate's"?

Are there any operations to stay away from?

I have had the pleasure to meet Captain Slate in person.
He was a very nice fellow and has been in business for many years. His ex wife Amy Slate also has a dive shop in Key Largo. It's called www.Amoray.com
Both are considered good operations from my Florida sources.
I happened to meet him after diving Key largo, and dove with the Westin down there. Fun diving. Be sure to do Pennecamp State park.

A well trusted friend of mine swears by Ocean Divers as top notch. I have not been down there, our airline went under (Midway) after the WTC attack.

I hope to make it soon, sounds nice.
