Hello,

My name is Tim I'm a new diver on Okinawa. I just bought all new equipment over the weekend Tsunami Gear Store had their 50% off annual sale so I went crazy. I stuck with ScubaPro brand equipment did a lot of research before I bought and seen a wide variety of opinions on all brands of gear. I'm looking for any tips on taking care of or just opinions, tricks of the trade on the equipment I bought.

KnightHawk BCD w Air 2 (I know sensative subject right)
MK25/X650
UWATEC, Smart COM and software

Looking forward to meeting dive friends in the area......Thanks......

Hello TT,

why not start with this link: A beginner's guide to the ScubaBoard.Com forums.
It will give you lots of info regarding ScubaBoard.

Please fill out your Public Profile (and Dive Info) when you've got the time so we can get to know you a little bit better. If you want to, you can have a look at my Public Profile for inspiration. ;)

Have a look here as well: New Divers & Those Considering Diving.

For local info and/or (future) buddies, just follow the path or have fun along the way by clicking on any of the given links: ScubaBoard.Com > Regional Travel & Dive Clubs > Asia > Zen Divers.

BTW, welcome (Scub)aBoard! :happywave

Wow everyone is so nice so far this is great. I have another question! With my new DIve computer and all(Smart Com) I can do all kinds of neat stuff but should I still fill out my dive book and get another licensed diver to sign it for every dive? I gues what I'm getting at is I can transfer all of my dives electronically to my computer program but I have no signature of my dive buddy can I simply just do that and still technically get crediable credit for that dive?

you can do that as well but i have gotten used to filling out a hard copy of my logbook with my buds sig. this is also convenient bec when you transfer via pen, you have more time to analyze, study and scrutinize your dive info. it also is convenient to bring around when you go on dive trips, also neat to compare notes and exchange dive stories. just my personal exp:)

Nice Reg for a :newbie: but why not eh? Are you an Okinawa, or assigned there? We get a lot of members from there, and I suppose many hang out on the Japan forum...
