The difficulty may not be all psychological. I pee plenty while diving, but find it impossible to start while kicking, however mildly. I have to just hang horizontally, relaxed. Then, once the flow starts, I can resume the swim.

I must have missed the part where I said I TRY to be dehydrated. Just because I don't drink soda or tea doesn't mean I don't drink water. In fact, I think I said I drink water in my postDear Nude,That said, dehydration + diving is a quick way to increase your chances of DCS.Pee if you can, hold it if you can, cut wee holes in your suit as a last resort, but avoid dehydration at all costs.
It's really dangerous to have to pee and not do it while you're diving. Either you can get bent and lose all bladder function or if you get bent can lose all bladder function. I can't remember which byt either way it's no good.
I have to admit the thought of peeing in my wetsuit makes me feel very uncomfortable!!
After our first ow dive the instructor asked who had pee'd in their suits. I turned to hubby and said "I'm buying my own suit today!!" It hadn't occured to me that anyone pees in their suits. However I now know its ok, but I still can't and would rather not!!
In six pages, I can't believe that no one has posted the old adage:
"There are two types of divers. The ones that pee in their wetsuits, and the one's that say they don't."
Me?? I'm a pee-er and have no problems.
thats because you were among friends who believe you find a happy place when you pee in your wetsuitOk well I think I am cured. ......
