I bought a Oceanic Delta 4.1.tinking that 1st stage swiveld but now that it's in the mail I find 2nd stage swivels I use 3 differnt size tanks. My 1st stage swiveld on the old regulator do you think i'm going to miss this ?

First, I can't imagine the "function" of a first stage swivel.

Second. the whole function of the regulator (aside from reducing tank pressure, of course) is to see to it that your regulator fits in your mouth in such a way that it's comfortable.

Ergo... the main question being.... "how does it feel?"

I don't want to insult you but i'll just add a comment to this, which is something that I come across a lot in diver training:

Many people seem to have a need to work out the "scenarios" ahead of time. I usually call these students the "chess players"..... if this, then that........

My advice to them is the same as my advice to you.... "don't think about it, just do it and see how it feels".

Dive it. If it *feels* good then it *is* good.

My first regulator was a Zeagle 50D (1st stage swivel). Great regulator, but I didn't find that the swivel made any difference. I also dive Mares, Zeagle, and Apeks 1st stages without swivels for single tank diving, and the hose routing is quite comfortable with all. I do not think you will miss the swivel.

I DO find a swivel 1st stage to be nice for sidemount, and have acquired a 'collection' of 50Ds as a result. (I have also come to like omniswivels, positioned at the second stage hose connection, for sidemount as well.) Overall, I very much agree with Diver0001:

I've used first stage swiivels for the last 15 years maybe. Bought a new reg without one and immediately noticed the difference in comfort. The swivel allowed me to move my head side to side with much less resistance from the reg.

I then bought one of those fancy braided LP hoses that are very flexible. The soft flexible hose made the non swiveling first stage as comfortable as the ones with a swivel. I think you may miss the swivel on the first stage,

A lot of the movement of the 1st stage turret (swivel) is restricted by the LP inflator hose; if it's too long, it tends to push the primary 2nd stage hose forward, if it's too short, it can pull on the primary hose. At least that's been my experience with SP turret 1st stages.

You could solve the whole problem by using a modified long hose set up, which IMO is far more comfortable and has the great advantage of being way better for air sharing.

I dove with a swiveling SP 1st stage for maybe 18 years. (Actually dramatically failed at the swivel once.) Bought a new reg a few years ago with no 1st stage swivel, but does have a milflex hose on the 2nd. Both feel fine. Just try what you decided to get and see how it feels. If you don't like the feel maybe try a milflex hose.

See, when you're about to fork out 500 bucks on something
you're supposed to research it, and if you happen to miss
something important it may well irritate you for the life of
the reg.

I see this lack of gear knowledge extend to diving all the time.

It would be a preference of most, to dive with chess player minds
that have an ability to think ahead, foresee possible problems, and
avoid them.

YouTube - Oceanic Delta 4 Regulator Review

So, my question is, what do you expect from the reg and why you bought it?

And you can always swap the reg if you don't try it, to see how it feels..

IMHO the first stage swivel on the turret takes a small amount of the strain off the hoses and can make it a bit easier to grab the cylinder when the reg is on it. However, more importantly is configuring the hoses into best ports to start with. Oddly with one of my regs it has 4 ports which are not evenly space around it. It took me a couple of tries to get the hoses positioned "correctly"
