I fought it as long as I could, but after watching my 17 year old son attracting all the girls at the lake this weekend with his brand new OMS BP/W setup I finally caved.

On order - my very own OMS BP/W rig. Soon to be on ebay - Oceanic Chute III.

Apparently it dives pretty nice too - which is a nice side benefit.

Agreed that IS the best reason to switch to a BPW!

Cheers.

I must be doing something wrong. I've had mine since last year and haven't noticed any interest from the girls at the lake. Suggestions welcome.

Ron - I noticed from your profile you're from Albany. I think that's the problem. My son never got any attention from the girls until:

1) We moved from Albany to Austin
2) He turned into a 6ft 17 year old
3) Got an OMS backplate

I'm assuming you have the older than 17 covered, and you have the BP, so all that's left is the move from Albany to Austin.

We're native NYers, lived in Guilderland and Clifton Park for 10 years. My son will be applyng to RPI for the '08 Freshman class in a few weeks. I still consider it home. I'm coming up to dive Northern Lake George on Sept 19,20,21 with my new wing so I can test the Austin move part of my theory in your neck of the woods.

You think maybe its more about the 17 and 6' stuff?

I grew up on RPI's graduate housing campus! My dad was a PHD and then a post-doc for many years. What a great place!

I'm an RIT grad, but my sister and brother-in-law are both RPI grads. He is really looking forward to it. He won the Rensselaer Medal so its a partial free ride, which makes me think its a great place too!

Yup.. I always heard that chicks dig BP/W! :rofl3:

Hilarious!

My wife is no more attracted to me after I got my DSS rig... Maybe I should try an OMS BP/W? Maybe she'd like it more?

haha not even... ;)

Certainly a benefit we should attach to BP/W.

I have the privilege of getting the BP/W setups for BO and his son. What I haven't said until now is that I'm going to have them model the gear in front of OW and Adv. classes when we talk about equipment. That should drive my OMS sales to the next level. :eyebrow:
