Annual Bonaire trip is in the books. Really great meeting up with a group we met there maybe 17 years ago! I've posted reports in the past so no need to go into detail. SCTLD and a couple of dives with East Coast Diving are the things of interest this year. We stay at The Plaza and boat dive with Toucan Divers. Massive development going on at the Plaza! Unfortunately they are right in ground zero of SCTLD so we skipped diving 18th Palm which is a very nice shore dive! As usual we do 2 boat dives in the am and shore dive in the afternoon. For the first time we did 2 dives with East Coast Diving on the wild side. What a blast! These guys really know what they are doing! The first dive was ok, you know a few turtles and rays  . And I guess they are checking us all out in the water. The 2nd dive started White Hole and ended at Turtle City. wow, just wow! Drop into the White hole and are greeted by a few seahorses on the bottom in white sand. Tarpans just watching us check the out. Then a few eagle rays buzzed by... A couple of turtles as well. Then we headed to Turtle City. You are in the shallows with pretty seagrasses and decent surge. Was fun getting pulled forward and back. Then Turtle City. They were all over the place! Sleeping on the bottom, going up for a breath. Well worth the cost.
Now we did have one crazy dive great dive with Toucan at Klein. The site was Keepsake. Right before our turn the DM signaled big turtle and he was going to take off and see if he could catch it. No luck. So we made the turn and at the top of the reef in the sand we were greeted by 3 squid in formation. Not afraid of us at all. A little further there was an octopus curled up on a coralhead. Then a ray buzzed by us, but the DM was signaling frantically. A loggerhead was passing by! Oh and a couple more squid back by the boat. We shore dove exclusively in the south green sites. Also enjoyed a bait ball and some rays and of the other usual suspects. And the calmest entry ever at Vista Blue. Decent trip

Thank you for the trip report.
We have a trip planned for July and I am curious how the gear cleaning went?
Did you clean gear after boat dives and again after shore diving?
Could you dive the house reef and just chose not to?
Thanks for the information.

Yup, no big deal. Technically if we were going from green am boat dives to pm shore dives we were not required to rinse. But given the option and time I rinse anyway.
We absolutely could dive the house reef and people were, but we were heading south to other sites anyway. They did say to not dive the house late in the afternoon because they would like time for equipment to dry overnight.
Have fun!!!
